I am an Elbert County, Colorado native. I've been a local business owner for the last 30 years, and my family has other local equine businesses in the county. I have ridden and shown my whole life from the ranch to the show pen such as NRCHA, NRHA and local shows. I am a local 4-H leader for the horse project, and have helped produce local open shows and events. I have worked behind the scenes of the Elizabeth Stampede, from being a Royalty Ambassador to Royalty Coordinator, as well as many other jobs to make the rodeos run smoothly. I have worked with the Messer family the last 2+ years on helping to manage and build Messer Arena to what it is today, and I look forward to many more with this team in taking Messer Arena to a new level.
I am honored to be a 5th generation Cattle Rancher in Colorado, since my family settled in Aurora in the mid 1800’s. The importance of agriculture and a love for rodeo run deep in my roots, and I have yet to know a day where horses and cattle weren’t a huge part of my life. My ancestors helped to form the original Pro Rodeo Association and had a big role in producing the very first of the National Western Stock Show over 110 years ago. I have been riding horses for as long as I have been able to walk. I have competed in many rodeos and was a proud member of the NLBRA (National Little Britches Rodeo Association) all throughout my highschool career. I would like to bring as much knowledge to the youth about agriculture and equine sports as I can, seeing it continue to grow and educate others through Messer Arena.
I guess you can call me horse crazy... My world has always revolved around my love for horses since a young age, and I grew up showing and competing in many different disciplines. Showing and rodeo led me through my high school days and into UNR during which I rodeoed and found my true love for roping and cow horse events. Since college, my horse adventures have taken me all across the US and to other countries. I have broadened my background learning about polo, as I worked for the largest polo clubs in Colorado. Riding and training jumpers also, greatly added to my “horsey resume.” I have been privileged to work for some of the best cow horse trainers and cutting horse trainers in the nation, as well as showing and competing at a national level. Though my true love in life is roping and ranch work, I have a very versatile foundation that has allowed me to have my own horse training business. I now work for Messer Arena and even when I'm not at the arena, it is almost a guarantee that you can find me in the back of a horse!
