Mohammad Shtayyeh accuses IDF of trying to spread COVID-19
In Israel - the country’s UN envoy Danny Danon has called on the United Nations to condemn a recent statement made by Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh who has alleged that IDF troops were trying to spread COVID-19 in Judea and Samaria. Danon made the call during a UN Security Council session on Middle East peace, held via a video-conference on Monday. The remarks that drew Danon's ire were made by Shtayyeh in an address in which he accused Israeli soldiers of intentionally spreading the disease in Judea and Samaria. Shtayyeh's charges were also condemned by former US special envoy for Middle East peace Jason Greenblatt, who dismissed them as a modern version of blood libel.
